干支画
Since 2014, the artist has self-published limited-edition silk-screen prints of the Chinese Zodiac Signs each year, completing the cycle of 12 zodiacal animals in 2025.
For 2026, the additional small edition to honor the Myth of the FIRE HORSE.
2014年の午(うま)年から干支画を描き始め、毎年限定シルクスクリーン版画をNYの工房から自費出版してきました。 12年の歳月を経て十二支が全て揃い、最後に丙午(ひのえうま)を特別に加え「下條ユリ干支画」が完成しました。
In traditional Asian culture, girls who were born in the Year of the FIRE HORSE, which returns every 60 years, are believed to be cursed as outcasts or the worst witches who are too powerful to tame, with a far too imaginative nature, who “eat their husbands alive”. In 1966, the last Fire Horse year, the birth rate in Japan declined by 25%.
