When I was a child, the act of painting or drawing was always the way of communication. It was also my only weapon which can protect my own realm, and make the realm visible with my own hand. When I work on illustrations, I always keep this in mind.

わたしにとって子供の頃から絵を描くということは、コミュニケーションの手段であったり、自分だけのファンタジーの世界を守る武器であったり、またそのファンタジーを、自分の手で現実に目に見えるかたちにできる手段でありました。イラストレーションを描くときは、今でもそれを大切にしています。
